Before and After-Preschool Care
Assumption Academy proudly offers the CARES program, providing morning care every day beginning at 7:30 AM and after school CARES from 3-6 PM. Our before and after-CARES program in Strafford, PA helps parents bridge the time between school and your work schedule, providing a safe place for children to gear up for the start of the school day and wind down when school is over. We give children an opportunity to play if they want to or spend some quiet time on their own if they choose.

Welcome to a new school year at Assumption Academy! My name is Isabella LeGendre and I am thrilled to be returning to our wonderful school community this year in my new role as the Director of the Cares program. Having been a part of the Assumption Academy family previously, I already know how special this community is, and I am so excited to reconnect with returning families and warmly welcome those who are joining us for the first time.

CARES Hours
- Morning Cares: 7:30 AM – 8:45 AM
- Afternoon Cares: 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Please note that due to current staffing limits, sign-ups for the Cares Program will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. We hope to expand our availability quickly as we onboard additional staff members, and we appreciate your patience and understanding.
Billing Information:
Cares Program billing is structured based on the specific care option you select:
● Morning Cares (7:30 AM – 8:45 AM): A flat rate of $150 per month (covers any number
of days per week).
● Afternoon Cares (3:00 PM – 6:00 PM): Billed at a fixed monthly rate based on the daily
hours reserved:
○ Tier #1- 1 Hour (3:00 PM – 4:00 PM): $150 per month
○ Tier #2- 2 Hours (3:00 PM – 5:00 PM): $275 per month
○ Tier #3- 3 Hours (3:00 PM – 6:00 PM): $400 per month
Overrun Policy:
Please select the afternoon tier that matches your expected pick-up schedule. If a child stays past their scheduled hours more than 2 days in a single month, your account will automatically be adjusted to the next pricing tier for that month’s invoice.
To ensure accurate time tracking, parents must check their child out at the exact time of pick-up. If a child is not checked out at departure, staff will record the end time based on their logs, and we cannot guarantee exact accuracy on your invoice. A physical paper sign-out sheet will also be available at the desk as an additional sign out precaution.
Invoices will be sent home bii-weekly via email.

Exploration Through Play and Activity
We structure our aftercare program to include fun, group activities as well as time for relaxation. While we understand that every waking moment provides a chance for young minds to learn and explore, we also know that sometimes kids just need to be kids, and our CARES program allows them to do just that.
Our before and after-preschool care program is staffed by experienced, devoted and caring adults. Every member of our staff works to create an atmosphere of acceptance and comfort for all children. We ensure every child feels welcome, valued and cared for.
